APPEAL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dear All

NCP (Maoist) abducted Mr.Mahendra Yadav, a leader of Nepali Congress, from his home in Mahottari District on October 11 and Mr. Rajendra Rai, President of ANSF,from his hometown in Bhojpur District. Their whereabouts is not known. the Human Rights Community is extremely concerned on the news of such grave incidents.

We consider that the disappearances by abduction of the political leaders or workers, student leaders and other persons on the basis of political dissension or difference in conscience or faith is a gross violation of fundamental civil and human rights. NCP (Maoist's) such behavior of violent revenge and intolerance to different political faiths are shameless contradictory to their declared commitment to minimum provisions for the universal principles of Human rights and international humanitarian laws and provisions.

The human rights community, at a time when it is appealing with a special hope and reason, sincerely requests NCP (Maoists) to put an immediate stop to killings, torture, abductions, atrocities and physical liquidation on the charge of so called 'spies'. These acts will alienate them form the people causing harm to all including their own declared causes. We strongly demand their whereabouts and condition be made public and release them immediately thereby showing their tolerance to their political differences.
