> As PHM-India, we are organising a National Public Consultation on Right to
> Health Care, on the 25th anniversary of Alma Ata (6th September). The
> Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission has consented to come
> for this. It will be in the nature of a Public hearing, persons who have
> suffered 'Denial of health care' would be presenting testimonies, and we
> would then be following this up with filing of a major collective
complaint
> with the National Human Rights Commission. The idea is to delineate, argue
> for and establish the Right to Health Care at both legal and operational
> levels. We would also be moving to make the Right to Health Care a
> Fundamental Right in the Indian constitution. This of course is being
> accompanied by building up of a major national campaign by PHM-India, with
> active initiative from district and state levels organisations and
national
> netwroks from various parts of the country. The pace of the campaign and
mobilising work is going fast.
