Greetings from Community Health Cell.

Enclosed a preliminary intimation of the Asia Social Forum event in
Hyderabad from 2 – 7th January 2003 and the Jana Swasthya Abhiyan’s
evolving contribution to it.  CHC will be playing an active role in the
JSA – ASF event and organizing

a) The seminar on Environment and Health and three workshops on
b) Taking the Peoples Health Movement Forward.
c) Alma Ata Anniversary reflection
d) Towards a tobacco free world.

We will also be contributing or participating in many of the other
sessions / events particularly
e) The seminar on Right to Health Care moving from idea to reality;
f) A cross country   audit of externally funded Health Sector reform;
g) War conflict and Disaster building People Action for Health.

We invite you or your team members to join the CHC team in this
significant intersectoral event.  All participants are requested to
cover as much of their own travel to Hyderabad and be ready to cover
basic costs of local stay at very subsidised rates.  We are raising
funds to support some of these costs if feasible.

If you are able to join us in the JAS – ASF event and are interested to
explore a more active participation in any of the evolving seminars and
workshops, please write to us immediately and not later than 18th
November 2003 so that we can involve you in the planning and organizing
of our participation and make the best use of your presence with us in
Hyderabad.

A line is acknowledgement will be appreciated as soon as possible.

PS:  I shall be away on a PHM- East Africa Solidarity Mission till
17th.  Our next communication will be on 18th November by which time we
